Analysis 2 of magazine cover.

This is a 'Rolling Stones' front cover with the 'Black Eyed Peas' featured on it.

The masthead starts from the top left hand corner and finishes at the top right hand corner, being centered in the middle, it is big text and is in the colour red with a white and black lining around it so that it stands out more, also so that it is easy to see for the readers. The red colour connotation means that red is associated with energy, strength, power, determination as well as passion, desire, and love. The date and price is placed in the top right hand corner above the masthead.

The main image is a wide shot of the 'Black Eyed Peas' so that all four members of the group are able to fit into the shot, they are all faces towards the camera in a strong stance. Their stance matches what they are wearing, as the are wearing black leather suits they look quite army like, which symbolises that they are very strong, powering and dominate, however Fergie (the female member of the band) is wearing a leotard showing her cleavage and her legs which gives her femininity at the same time, this may attract male readers as some may find this attractive. She is also wearing silver high heels, a arm bracelet and some silver earrings which gives her femininity as well. One of male members is wearing silver studded sunglasses which gives them a 'cool' kind of effect. What they are wearing matches well with the masthead colour connotation (strength, power and determination) they also look in fashion as they are wearing what is 'in' at the moment (army style). The clothes that they are wearing in this shot mirrors the genre of music they produce,of pop, dance and up beat rock and the clothes imitate this. In the image their heads cover part of the masthead, which shows that the magazine is so well known that it doesn't matter if their audience can't see the full masthead.

The main headline 'BLACK EYED PEAS, the science of global pop domination' also links well with the main image of the 'Black Eyed Peas' as they are dressed as though they are ready to take over the world. The group's name is in big bold white letters and underneath in smaller yellow text is a glimpse of the story.  Even though the sub heading isn't very big and bold it stands out because of the text being in yellow, which contracts well with the white background and heading, and the black outfits that the 'Black Eyed Peas' are wearing. Above the group's headline there is another one in the same style but about '40 reasons to get excited about music' which shows that it is a music magazine. The fact that the headlines are as big and bold as they are it will attract the attention of the years and then when they read the headlines and the sub headings they will want to know more as they are left on sort of a cliff hanger, 'the science of global pop domination' after reading this the readers will want to know how they did.

*I*
'Rolling Stones' could be insignificance with the band 'the rolling stones' and this will translate well to music fans. The magazine features popular music acts and quality 'in' music and therefore may cost more than what some other music magazines might. On the front cover the four members of the band are all dressed in a similar, however wearing individual objects that make them stand out and gives them an individual look.

The social class that would buy this magazine would be upper middle class and middle class as they earn good money and would be able to pay the amount that the magazine costs every week or month.

*R*
The front cover also connects with music, the genre that it is and the target audience. You can see that it is to do with music as the magazine has 'Black Eyed Peas' on the front cover and they have a part where is says 40 reasons to get excited about music, so that's another point how you know it is a music based magazine. Also it connects to the target because the target audience will be fans of 'Black Eyed Peas' and perhaps 'the rolling stones' and there will be regular readers.
